I wonder if the autofab setup would work on a 4X4

I too am looking

for a lift for my truck! I have a '64 ford F-100 2WD. I'd like a decent Suspension lift, anywhere from 4"-6". Does anybody have an idea where I can find this? I've been looking everywhere!

I was able to get 4.5 inches of lift when i rebuilt the front end of my 63 f250. you can get 2.5 inches of lift by having the leaf springs re-arched, 2 inch lift blocks and new U bolts will get you to 4.5 inches. only thing is when you go past 2.5 inches you will need to Z the drag link.

here is a pic of 4.5 inchs of lift

Blocks under the front springs are not a real good idea, the side load against the u-bolts in a turn is increased, just like using a longer lever. I've seen buddies do that a long time ago on their 4x4's and it didn't end well.

My 2 pennies worth is that is why only the rear springs are blocked on the 4x4s. Next statement is what about increase size of the ubolt to offset more side pressure.

i think that blocks on the front axle are illegal in all states !
now if one is dead set to use them then build your own and make then 6" long so they go past the U-BOLTS and drill a hole in then to bolt them to the spring pack with new center bolts !
what ever the width of the springs are then get the same size solid square stock for the blocks , say 2.5" x 2.5" x 6" long !
