MSD ignition woes

so I finally got off my lazyass and finished putting the engine togather after doin my timing chain and now I have no spark
I have a MSD 8595 dizzy, MSD blaster 2 coil, MSD 8.5mm wires a 64 ignition box... and I have NO spark!!!

looking for sugestions on waht the problem might be, will be checking all the grounds tommrow just beacuse, i know 100% all other wires are correct.

then ill try removing the 6A and running the dizzy straight up. i bought the 6A used so i am hoping that it aint bad.

anybody have any sugestions before i start clipping fittings and crimping new ones to run the dizzy straight up?

These units can be blow out if the MSD Boxs our not removed from the battrey power if doing any welding on the vehicle. so keep that in mind. The msd web site does have how to's their on bench testing the box so you may want to go their and check it out..The install manual sheet that comes with the box tells all this stuff to..

Remove the box from the equation, and see if it starts.

They are almost always the culprit rather bad or hooked up correctly.

When I use a MSD box I make sure the car runs before I go and wire it in.

Havent removed the ignition box just yet, figured id do a lil trouble shooting while it was still installed.
All grounds are good, my key on source is live when the key is turned on, iv rechecked my wireing several times.

But I have found that the orange wire coming out of the box to the coil has no power when key is on. well there is no power to ither side of the coil when key is on.
so what are the odds somthing is wrong with the box?

heading outside right now to bypass it and see if it will fire that way...

Removed the 6A and it fired right up, fired up like it was running just a few minuts ago!!! I was soo happy. killed it so I could clean up under the hood and pull the tarp off the truck so it would be easier to time it and play with the carb and recurve the MSD...
so I go to start it again and start timing the engine and it starts the same s hi t it was doin when I parked it, gas petal to the floor and bairly running.
has great fuel pressure, dident put the guage on it but it obviously had pressure. when I started to pull a hose clamp hose still had a bit of gas pressure...

Sounds like you have some dirt or clogging in the idle needle seats

Possibly, gunna open the carb and give it a quick cleaning.
fuel regulator was puttin out 9 psi, turned it back down to 5.5psi but quickly climbs back to 9 th 9.5 at the most.
spark plugs are soaked, gunna let it dry out and try again tommrow

I would also replace the regulator. I had a similar problem on my bug.

VW's like 2.5 psi, and my Holley pump put out 8psi. I got a couple of bad regulators, and they would creep. Then my car would run horrable, and then flood.

I think i am buying a different fuel pump, prices look cheeper on summit for a smaller fuel pump than an ewy regulator...
