Wheel bearing/hub- COMPLETE
Hello everybody,
Its been a while since I have done a wheel bearing/hub on a super duty. I guess I have been lucky
.
2005 f250 single rear wheel (5,4) not like the motor matters.
Unfortunately, I plan on buying a Moog 515081 wheel bearing and hub assembly from amazon as it is 50% cheaper than the dealer or the auto parts store I deal with.
Its pretty straight forward , I know but does anyone have any tips on doing it?
Thanks again.

Moog's quality has become questionable.
First of all, you need to nail down exactly which hub you need. You mention 2005 with 2004 in your signature.
But the Timkens have a better rep. Amazon can be a PITA if you need a warranty, so I tend to go RockAuto. You can always hunt down a 5% discount code. 2005+ is more expensive.

Here is my suggestion for a 2005; https://parts.autonationfordwhitebea...UtNGwtdjgtZ2Fz Another thing to watch out for when chasing a low price, anywhere, but especially on amazon and ebay are Chinese forgeries of "genuine name brand parts" the packaging may look authentic but the parts are not and of poor quality. Good Luck, Russ

TMT- I have an 04 6.0 as well as the 05 5.4.
I read a few bad reviews about the timken, ( as well as every other brand on amazon) That was my original " want" . I'll take your word on the rockauto Timken bearing.
AK- thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate the reply. Funny how the guy in the 99-16 forum is going through the same thing right now.
I tried to weasel a better deal out of my auto parts store but they weren't giving out any better deals. I don't usually order parts online for fear of junk.

Unfortunate that shipping is so bad from here to there. Just $404 (American $) here. That is still $509 Canadian $ though.

Quick note. The Amazon people can't offer you sound advice but your local retailer or Wholesaler with a web site can. I find quick trouble shooting up the street far out ways any "savings' gleaned from chasing the 'cheapest" price out there. I had bought a door check that was not an OEM and you quickly learn why it's less than the dealer. "Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you". Buy the good stuff, buy it local.
