Thanks steelhead2... like I keep saying...any input is welcome.
so the following comes to mind

Can anyone actually explain to me why... if the high pressure oil is leaking...I would not have low pressure oil.
Is it correct that the HPOP is resevoir fed by the low pressure after it goes through the filter?
I should have low pressure if this is the case. I could see the resevoir running empty, the LPOP not keeping up, if there was a big HPOP leak.
The only way I may not make pressure with LPOP is if it was directly ported to the HPOP. My problem remains...no LPOP flow or pressure

Yes npcc partsman, I got the entire front engine cover.

upper oil pan to bedplate leak at the pickup port. My daughter could of done better on the finish grind on the mating surface on a bench grinder. Very surprised it lasted 5+ yrs. Parallel thickness differences of .008 didn't let the gasket work. Bed plate straight enough. Had .003 milled off the upper pan...got oil now, just gotta put the rest of it back together

Wink dont drop the pan yet

Am I missing something or is my next step to pull the pan? Can the pan clear without jacking the engine?
BTW it does have oil in the pan... just saying.
102,000 miles

Appreciate any help, thanks
before dropping the pan I had better say that we are working on basically the same issue, and in our case we were able to inspect the pick up tube with a borescope and it is in place and intact. we have not found any reason to be experiencing not only no low pressure, but the pump is not even moving any oil at all, this truck came in with no high pressure oil and the low pressure oil was ok, and we found a bad hpop. however, during the course of the repair, we also lost low oil pressure also, and could not find any cause. after repacking the gerotor gears with vasoline,we got the low pressure back, the engine ran, was road tested, returned to the customer, and died going down the road, towed back in with no low pressure again ( at least not on the dash gauge) whic we will of course need to verify. If we solve the issue I will be happy to post it, however the customer is pretty upset, and we may not be the ones to fix the truck, GIVEN THE AMOUNT OF TIME REQUIRED TO REMOVE THE OIL PAN, AND GIVEN THAT IN OUR CASE THE PICK UP TUBE SEEMS TO BE OK, YOU MIGHT TRY TO BORROW A BORE SCOPE, OR GET A
VIDEO INPECTION CAM ( ABOUT A $100 FROM HARBOR FREIGHT) AND TAKE A LOOK.

Hey motor junkie....this is old news. A review of the posts will show you that the upper pan was the problem where it mates the bedplate.
Hell, I'm already beyond that and have studded the heads and put in a Bulletproof egr cooler and oil cooler. It's a good thing I love my daughter cause the factory 6.0 is a POS

I'm trying to get this video as my truck seem to have a similar problem, but it is not there anymore.

Any help greatly appreciated.

old video

speedo9... I copied and pasted the link and went right to it. It is a good video but if you don't have Ford tools, it won't help much.
It'd be better if you had an understanding of the porting of the oil system up from the pan and all the way through.
I could help with that if you tell me what you have done. Once I figured it out, it made much more sense.
Let me know

You were right, it works fine and btw, it's a great video. Thanks a lot for the link, it seems very helpful.
As far as the link, I was trying to watch it at work and it seems that my work network prevents me from seeing it. When I got home last night, it opened just fine.

One thing about the used front cover though.....it should be very saleable to someone with an 03 or early 04 motor since it has the bigger/upgraded water pump cavity. They are fairly popular.
If you don't mind my asking, how do you remove the front wear sleeve to slide the inner gerotor gear out? I'd like to replace mine while I have the whole thing torn down.

You need to start your own thread so it will get the attention it deserves. That being said having a trashed LPOP gear and cover is bad news as it usually means it ingested a needle bearing from a failed lifter and the short block will need to be removed to replace the damaged cam shaft.
