Noob Question - Glow Plug Replacement

Noob Question - Glow Plug Replacement
I'm a new 6.0 owner (05 Excursion), so pardon the inexperience.
Yesterday the check engine light came on, and I borrowed an OBD2 scanner which gave code P0677 - "Glow Plug Heater Cyl 7". I'm assuming I need to replace at least 1 glow plug. I've also read on the forum to use only the Motorcraft Baru ZD13 glow plugs.
Q: I'm reasonable handy, so is this a task I should attempt myself ?
Q: Where (physically) are the glow plug screwed into the head ? are they on the side of the head between the valve cover and the exhaust manifold ?
Q: What is the cylinder numbering sequence on the 6.0 ? Where is cyl #7 ?
Q: Is it prudent to replace all 8 glow plugs while I'm in there, or is the failure rate on these things pretty low?
Any help is much appreciated,
Gary

Glow plugs on the 6.0L are a rare problem, you should check voltage at the FICM (Fuel Injection Control Module) if you are having cold start problems. FICM Test procedure
Describe at best to your ability the trouble you have been having and any repairs from the past, a little history on your truck is always helpful. Fresh batteries going into winter, if they are questionable, are always good.

No trouble starting in cold weather (or anyother time), just the dash light warning of an engine issue. It cranked right up this morning (25 deg F). A little rough for the first 30 sec or so, but I assume that's because cyl 7 wasn't firing yet. Previous owner said batteries are new (less than 1 yr old) and they are all clean and shiney, so it's believable.
I was wondering about the difficulty of changing this one glow plug. Is it a tough job? access from up top, or below? Anything need to be removed first?
TIA............Gary
