i had posted this before, but what they were doing is holding a bike by the handlebars and pushing it into the street right in front of cars causing them to swerve then pulling it back. this is on a 2lane (one each way) road with no shoulder except the small parking lot where they were. i saw it happen to the 3 in front of me and had time to prepare. my only regret is not having side exit exhaust!

Personally, I think people need to be more careful with the smoke on the road. If the wrong person sees it and complains then we'll be looking at more regulations. It doesn't matter to the government that our trucks on average get twice the mileage of the new ones. Smoke is bad and that's all they will care about when the next cash for clunkers comes around. And it might not be voluntary next time. Just my 2 cents.
I was a machinist mate in the Navy for a LONG time working on steam engines and boilers. We learned right off that smoke out the stacks is a waste and or just plain dangerous in the case of white smoke and it can also give away your position to the enemy. Not much has changed in civilian life.
