how do i make my diesel smoke more?

i have the dp tuner, aggressive chip in it... the 140hp aggressive...smokes a lil more than stock but how do i get it to be a thick black smoke?? i have straight 5 inch exhaust stacks, no cat or muffler, cold air intake and the dp tuner chip with 10 settings 140hp being the highest setting...

Wal Mart bag over the air cleaner.

chicagodragon 11-27-2010 03:44 PM

other than whan you have... stage one injectors

Benny D 11-27-2010 03:47 PM

ok cool, are they a pain to do? if i do get the stage 1 do i need to upgrade my fuel supply and get somethin like the airdog 2?

chicagodragon 11-27-2010 04:07 PM

you can send in your injectors to jim at rosewood to have them rebuilt. i dont think electric fuel is nessacery, but it dont hurt

strokersace 11-27-2010 04:38 PM

If all you want is more smoke I vote for the plastic bag over the air filter. It'll do it every time.

Why do you want more smoke anyway? Black smoke is just unburnt fuel and costly. Sure it looks cool to some. But it's a complete waste. But to each there own. It's all this "rollin coal" and "I want more black smoke" crap that has put the heat on the diesel community.

Again, go with the plastic back on air filter, then get to driving down the road and cruising at a low rpm, then mash the pedal. The motor will lug down and be starving for air. You'll get or beloved black smoke.

thanks...i didnt know if it was just my truck or not because i see alot of trucks especially newer diesels smoke more than mine...

Skip1970 11-27-2010 05:51 PM

just go ask your dad to kick you in the sack, that would be a smarter move.

bad12jr 11-27-2010 05:52 PM

More fuel more smoke. Newer trucks can flow more fuel then are trucks. The most our trucks will flow is 90 cc of fuel. Stage 1s get you to 160cc

redman84 11-28-2010 08:00 AM

I'd vote for more fuel over less air any day! Do what you want but logic says...

Why do you want just black smoke? Spend thousands just to waste fuel and add to the number of trucks out there blowing black smoke for no purpose other than giving the epa more reasons for diesel emissions tests. Now if you said how do I give my truck more power help it pull or run better that's completely different and most times smoke is a side effect of that

cowmilker08 11-28-2010 09:46 AM

Yeah its a stupid goal to just want black smoke. I'd rather have 350 HP and no smoke than 500HP and "roll coal." The tree huggers will love citing your truck at their little conventions and lobby meetings.
