You say it's getting fuel, but are you sure it's getting the right amount of fuel? Could just need the carburetor tuned properly or rebuilt.

Could be the plugs. (Why would you change the wires/cap/rotor but not plugs anyway?)

Could be the carburetor.

Could be a plugged fuel filter.

Could be a bad fuel pump.

Could be any combination thereof.

Could be any number of other things, too with the little information we're going on here, but most likely the carb is in need of tuning/rebuilding, given that it ran when you drove it home and you're just not able to start it. I'd start there, though it wouldn't hurt to throw new plugs in it too.

How are you actually checking for fuel and spark? How do you know the timing is correct if it won't run?

so i have a 78 f250 and i just figured out the problem, make sure the rotor inside the distributer didnt flip on you, that was the problem with mine, i replaced the plugs, i knew i was getting fuel and everything, it would turn over but wouldnt fire off, i replaced alot of ****, but i looked and the rotor was trying to fire off on plug 4 instead of 1, so that might be something to look into.

I'm curious on how you are checking for spark as well. Also as to what color the spark is.

Whatever it is, most likely it's something that happened "quickly" as it ran good then all of a sudden didn't.

Trash in carb, bad fuel pump
Electrical (no spark)

Have you tried changing the ignition switch?

I have a '78 F150 that wouldn't start for a while, it turned out to be a bad ignition switch.

have you replaced the fuel filter . helped a friend on his car, he just bought like you he was getting some fuel to carb as well. We found a second fuel filter in the frame that was pluged. We changed both and ran great after that
