Thanks Wayne I have a chance to trade my spare fenders for a complete exhaust job from the best exhaust guy around here anyway. But what your saying is they won't work ?
Correct, they won't work. The lower front extension splits off at a different place. The lower valance is different between the two. 48-50 and 51/52 front fenders (and rear for that matter) are unique and don't swap.
If you have a spare set of 51 F1 front fenders that are in good shape, they are worth substantially more than an exhaust job. Right now you could probably sell those for $400 each if they are ready for installation!
Also remember, F-1 fenders are different than F-2 to F-6s. The wheel openings are smaller on the F-1s. As Julies said, a set of F-1 fenders from any of the five Bonus Built years is work quite a few bucks. The larger truck fenders are also getting harder to find but there were a lot more made just because they were used on a wider range of trucks.
WOW Thanks julie i didn't know this. They have been patched with the kits from classic haulers But need to be smoothed out. It will be worth the money to go ahead and finish them off. Havn't made up my mind but i might build a 52 next. I need something to keep my mind off my leg [or lack of] LOL LOL LOL It helps to make jokes. I was thinking about getting a job at IHOP AND CHANGE MY NAME TO ILEAN. LOL GET IT ?
I had it crushed by a 1000 lb beam. They saved it only to get a blood colt and have to remove it above the knee. Lifes a beach !!!! REMEMBER SAFTY FIRST.
