What is the name of the better vinyl you found. I have my sub box cut out & will start my door pods soon. A soft pliable vinyl sure will fit the curves better. Also what do you think of Audioque subs. I may get 2 of their 2.5 ten inch models for my F250

never heard of Audioque...and for the life of me I can't remember what that other vinyl was called. I'll have to ask the guy that showed it to me next time I see him.

amps are in. had to re-run the 0ga under the truck so the carpet would lay down and not rub the 8" in the DS front door. I guess working so late at night I got some channels wired wrong, so I have some troubleshooting to do before I can go and setup all the gains and eq. Once that is done, I'll put the endcaps on all the amps to clean it all up. Also, I have to find an old RF amp to rob the light from for the logo that's missing. Almost done...

Audioque is a small American company. Great subs in many price ranges. I may use bedliner paint to cover my sub box. I have gun to spray it now.It will match the flat black in the truck.Or I can dye it the color of my interior if I want. That how I did my Ranger box

So I finally got all the channels lined out several months ago. Got the gains set where I want and spent some time playing/tweaking the EQ a bit. The Boston sub absolutely dominates the lowest notes, but (due to transfer function and box tuning) lacks a little for the "normal" bass ranges. I may re do the xover for the 8" and let them play all the way down to help fill in the gap. Unfortunately it also looks like I'll be selling the truck soon so all the gear will be coming out unless the buyer bucks up a little.

Voted against selling the truck... never gonna let this one go it seems! Vinyl on the front door pods did pull away, even with the 3M adhesive. So project for this summer is to remove them and rewrap using the commercial grade adhesive. I'm satisfied with the sound, but I do wish I had more output (always). Considered pulling the sub and 2 of the amps to do a system in my RSX. Basically, simplify this system and let the little car become a boom skate.

Also, I need to do crossover pipes, HPX, intercooler boots, and a few other little things to the engine this summer so the stereo may just stay like it is.

Oh, and Wife is fast approaching her 3.5 year anniversary of being diagnosed.. all clear and back to "normal" so far.

Well... 3 years later and the factory alternator finally gave up the ghost. I still have this truck, only 147K miles on the clock, so I doubt I'll be wearing it out anytime soon. I figured a durable upgrade was in order. I chose the 200A alternatorman large case alternator with Quicktifier 420 remote, fan cooled rectifier. I have to say, that it's amazing how smooth my truck runs now that the power supply is stable and adequate. Anyway, here's what I did:

alternator and remote rectifier... snazzy!

As you can see the new one is significantly larger.. but bolts into the same location!

had to notch the factory bracket just a tad.. die grinder made quick work of that (and quite a mess!).

Fits like a glove now.

whipped up a bracket to mount the Quicktifier

uses a the factory bolt to mount

Laid out the 0ga cabling.

Once I get some more 3/4" split loom I'll cover all the cables and tidy them up. For now, I'm enjoying the rock solid power this thing makes!

Figured I toss in a few of my 2006 Stereo Install

Nice Stereo system AudioGuru

I'm building a all McIntosh powered system for my truck all active with a Helix PRO processor with Dynaudio components. I have the subwoofer box to build yet and need to install the H/U.

Plan is to get it done in the next month.
