Backlight on Bully Dog Outlook Monitor

Anyone know how to repair the backlight, mine started flickering and now seems to be out completely. I can see taking it apart any way? I have tried an email to their support and no response.

Searched the net and it seems to be a common problem, you have to send it in.

oops.. sorry it took me so long to get to this.. ive not been on the net much lately.

I sent you a PM

But its usually something you have to send in to get fixed. im sure if you were good with electronics tho you could swap the LED out and get it to work again tho.

the reason i say send it in is because sometimes we find something else wrong with the monitor and repair or replace from that point.

dang same problem was hoping it was going to be a easy fix, i bought a used truck (05 PSD 6.0 f250) with the bully dog outlook already on it, I have no clue what else is on the truck yet but the back light doesnt work and I finally found a users manual online looks like a pain to remove it..

The LED replacement is not terribly hard, just finisky, and when you pull the board you have to be careful you dont break one of those 20 wires soldered to the baord. Thats what happened to me on my second LED attempt and I thought I ruined the board, turns out two wires had broke off. Luckily with my wife holding the board flat I was able to resolder them. Now all I have to do is get the nerve up to get another LED and try again. If you pick some up get 2 or 3. Its finicky. Also a small roll of tinfoil with sticky 1 side to replace what you peel off to get to the LED is also required. Tip, use the metal furnace dcuk tape (not ordinary duck tape).

Hi,
I have a customer with this unit. The white and black wires came off the board.
Could anyone please take a picture of the wire connections so I know where to solder them onto the board?

Thanks in advance.
