Time 4 New Shocks

My 05 F250 FX4 PSD needs new shocks. I'd like to go with the same Rancho brand but I don't know exactly what part #s they are. I think they are RS 5000 series but I can see a specific part number on them. Also, where's the best price on line to purchase these puppies? Any advice appreciated. Thanks guys!

You'd be MUCH happier with Bilsteins. The difference is daylight and dark. Eshocks.com has great prices on shocks.

I just bought Bilsteins from Suspension Connection on sale for $76 each. The ones for a higher lift were even cheaper for some reason. I put on 2.5 ' leveling blocks on front but now it rides a little rougher. Hope these help. Lift Kits, Suspension Leveling Kit, Truck Body Lift Kits, Shocks & Sway Bars for Chevy, Dodge Ram, Ford, Toyota Truck & Jeep 4x4

I'm gonna chime in and say I did the Bilsteins also and have been very happy with them too. Chunk those Ranchos!

If you're looking for the stock ride, the Edelbrock IAS will not stiffen straight line driving too much more, but will greatly improve cornering.

Bilstiens on front and either ajustables from Rancho or Pro comp . If my fronts ever go bad I will put ajustables on , makes it much easyier to tune when hauling loads that put weights on the front axle .

If you want to stick with Rancho. The RS9000s seem to be a more popular choice, 5000s are basic entry level

Don. I dont see where your from. I have a set of shocks from my truck that dont have 500 miles on them. Been sitting on a shelf since 05. Have springs also. If you were in Oregon you could have them.

Go with the Rancho 9000xl shocks. They are adjustable and they work well. I have had Bilsteins in the past and still do on my F150. They are nice, but very still. With the adjustable Ranchos you can dial them in to your taste.

Bilsteins. If you use your truck like it was meant to be used, then there is nothing else.

is 100% correct. Bilstein's may be a bit stiff but will give you the ultimate in control. They will soften a bit after a few k miles.

The OEM shocks that come equipped on the FX4 models are not Ranchos but Ford shocks branded with the Rancho label and are probably the biggest POS made.

What type driving do you usually do? Me? Street, highway, and gravel roads (5%); Monroe Sensatracs work fine and Monroe offered a rebate when purchasing 4. Shocks and front stabilizer cost $230 at Advance Auto.

Consider the driving style and buy the shocks that match the need.
