460 Windsor? Sounds unheard of to me. Some people need to be informed

I have a fantastic questions to ask the expert. One day while browsind youtube a came across a video on a 460 stroker fox body mustang.

Someone mentioned that it was a 460 windsor which i am fairly sure it is not since i can only find info up to 429 cu. in. on these motors. So i was telling this person who claims to be his buddy who owns the car and said that it was not a 385 series 460 but definately a 460 windsor.

I will post the video and if you guys check it out maybe if a group of people say that it is not a windsor (that i am fairly sure of) then it may sway him to believe what we are saying or we could get banned form posting on that video which has happened before i can give out my prove.

Here is the vid link.

I currently own a 92 f250 with a 460 and slowing coming up with ideas and combos to make a 521 stroker combo for roughly 700ft. lbs. I don't care for horsepower as much cause torque has more of a feel. Aftermarket computer or maf conversion will be done as well.

I will try posting in some other sites because this is a 385 series website and not for windsors.

Thanks for your time

World products sells a 460 Windsor crate motor making over 600hp.

It does use an aftermarket Windsor block tho.

World Products - MAN O'WAR 460 Complete Engines

check the deck height. It is 9.5 a 385 series engine is 10.3 a 351w is 9.5

I would think going with an aluminum block 460 (385 series) would put you light years ahead of the windsor combo. get the weight break without the big cube windsor short comings

And what about using an all alum windsor block?

My only point was that yes you CAN get a 460 Windsor.

BUT the head choices for a 385 series engine would give you a lot better hp potential.

although size would be an advantage of a 460cid small block. fit in a smaller engine bay (can you say big cubic in mini cooper?)

I agree about the 460 Windsor. But what I know is that Stang sounded real healthy.

Im actually doin somethin similar with my stang only Im using a 302 cammer block and building a cobra/mach1 engine. Some people dont realize that if you take a 4.6l(281cid) engine with a stock crank and bore it out to 3.7" that you get 302cid. Anyway I can imagine this very thing being possible

Yeah it is completely aftermaket with 14:1 compression from what i have been told. Probably making the same horsepower and possibly less torque then a healthy 521 running 10:1
