Vacuum advance question on a 66

I have a 66 f100 with a 352 and I am trying to replace the vacuum advance module but the problem is all of the part stores that I have tried don't have the right one. The one that came off of my truck has a screw on line (like a brake line) but the one that the part stores have has a tube that the vacuum line would slide up on. Has anyone else run into this problem?

Look on the curved section of the base of the distributor for its stamped ID number, post what it is.

There are two possible vacuum diaphrams, one has a threaded line, one does not, so I need that stamped ID number.

The distributor may have been changed to one from a 1960/64 Passenger Car.

The threaded line for the vacuum advance was used 1958/64 and on some 1965/67's.

Thanks guys. I'm not at home now so I can't get the number right now but I will as soon as I can. I went back and looked through so old pictures and found a picture of the engine. I put it in my album. Take a look and see if that helps. Thanks again.

I need the ID number off the dizzy...there's no way to tell what vacuum advance your truck has without it.

Parts catalog does not describe the advance, just lists part numbers.

I had the same issue with mine. I used the newer style vacuum advance. I took the metal line and cut it near the carb and left just enough metal line to make a nipple and used vacuum hose.

I have one of those types in my spare box. When I redid it I got a Motorcraft DD 190 vacuum unit which comes bare. This is the small can unit seen in the 60's and not the big can from the 70's. I then unscrewed the end from the old unit and moved the insides to the new unit and then screwed on the end piece which takes the threaded line. I have several end pieces in the threaded version and the nipple version to use as I please.

C5AZ12370A .. Vacuum Advance (Motorcraft DD190) / AVAILABLE (!) from Ford.

MSRP: $54.84 // FTE Ford Dealer Parts Dept sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM price: $29.62 / PartsGuyEd = Horizon Ford in Seattle WA

This is what the parts catalog calls for...for a 1965/67 F100/350 352, 1965/66 Galaxie/LTD/Thunderbird 352/390/428.

Prolly fits other applications as well.

C5AZ12370A is the correct vacuum advance for this distributor.
