My '57 doesn't have its hood emblem.
I read about them and think that '57 and '58 are equal, 59 has none and '60 is different.
Could you help me with a '57 close-up photo???

Look in user gallery page 165. I couldn't get it too post here. I believe this is a 57. I was told tht 56 and 57 are same but the back profile is different on 58. Don't know for sure.

I now have a repaired solid radiator core support thanks to a friend in St Louis. I hope that this spring will see a lot of work on the truck. It is good to be in a position to participate in the forum again.

You are correct.
1957 & 1958 are the same front hood emblem. These two years shared the same hood, as well as the bigger '59 & '60 from F-750 to F-1100.
The 1956 emblem has a different contour on the back due to the contour on the front of it's hood. 1960 is different altogether.

Where does the 'Overdrive' logo go on a '57? The reason I ask is that I saw one a while back and it had an 'Overdrive' logo on the front of the hood.

Is the emblem the same except for the contour of the back on the 56 and 57.

Could the 56 be shaved, ground or ??????????? to make it fit the 57 and 58. The 56 is available but not the 57 or 58.

The "overdrive" emblem would go on the passenger side front of the hood. The same spot that the "Fordomatic" emblem would go. Sorry I don't know the exact location demensions though

Shaving the back of a '56 emblem might work (not too sure), but there was another notable difference. The 1956 emblem spelled "Ford" in script, and the 1957-58 emblem was in "Block" letters.
