Where would you put the radio?

I don't know about the later trucks, but I had a stereo in the glovebox in my 50, years ago. The cab is narrow enough that one can reach it fine from the drivers seat. I think for now that's where I'd put one in the merc, if I ever get that far. Currently, I'd be plenty happy if it just drove. ;-)

I was looking into the idea of putting a deck behind the speaker grill... either make the grill removable so you have access to the radio and hides the radio when your not there. Or mount a deck that has a remote put the speaker cover over it all the time and just enjoy the radio. Could add a CD changer behind or under the seat.

Exactly!
It's worth considering getting one of the new stereos that doesn't even play CDs, uses either USB flash drives or SD cards to play MP3's, usually with a tuner function. The way these trucks bounce a CD isn't likely to function well, and who wants to carry around a CD wallet? Flash drive fits in your pocket. Then the head unit can be almost anywhere. iPods are another similar option.
But if you can hear the stereo, you have the wrong exhaust

I hear ya...pardon the pun...but as a guy who has spent forty plus years in race cars...huh?...what did you say?...I will have a decent exhaust but do want tunes as well.
I'm considering an under the seat install with a remote and definitely a head unit with a USB. But I'm listening to any other suggestions.
