Is 2011 The Last Year Of The Ranger?

I've heard it rumored that Ford will discontinue production of the Ford Ranger due to the closure of the St. Paul, Minnesota plant in 2011.

Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Yes, this way discussed a while back. The global Ranger will stay in production, but the United States will not see a new Ranger.

This is the first I've heard of it, but thank's for confirming the bad news. At least I now know for sure.

I like your '77 F-150.

I think Ford is making a big mistake killing off the Ranger in North America. In my area, I see about as many late model Rangers as late model F150`s. When I bought my new 2010 Ranger in January, the salesman said that they sell about as many Rangers as F150`s. If the Ranger was not available this year, I would not have bought a F150 , so Ford would have lost the sale. Lots of people still like a small pickup, and with the Dodge Dakota, Toyota Tacoma, Nissan, & GM all selling mid size PU`s, the Ranger & Mazda are the only true small pickups left. Since Ford has saw fit to not make a manual transmission available in any F150-350, I guess they don`t want any more of my business down the road, either.

The closing of the plant was first announced back in 2008, actual date of closing has changed several times.
