TRUCK YOU! Two F-150s, a F-250 & an Econoline in the Garage
Some people love and adore their truck. They pamper it, spoil it, and throw endless modifications under the hood to make it the best it can be. And once they’ve done that, they make the hood itself carbon fiber.
However, some people don’t just like to have one vehicle in their garage. If you’re like Ford truck enthusiast IDIDieselJohn that number is more like four.
The first of these four classic vehicles is a 1988 Ford F-150. The red rig was converted from a four speed standard to a five speed by the previous owner and is powered by a 300 I6.
IDIDieselJohn has also added five leaf springs to the half-ton truck, bringing it up to a total of ten leaf springs per side on the vintage Ford. In addition to this, the 1988 truck has rare Turbine mags, which were the same used by the ’69 Charger in Dukes of Hazzard!
The second rig parked in his garage is a 1989 Ford F-150. This Ford, like the last, is powered by a 300 I6. IDIDieselfJohn bought the truck for $300 with no box, no windshield, and a need for work to be done for safety reasons.
It cost $2300 total to fix, which included brakes all around, front brake lines, a windshield, and more! The truck now looks brand new. It runs on its original C6 and has had the bench seat replaced by one out of a XLT Lariat.
IDIDieselfJohn defines this truck as “Good Ol’ Reliable.” And he is certainly right — the truck has 568,808 km (377,497 miles!) and is still on the original clutch.
The truck is a 1990 Ford F-250 4X4 with a 7.3L Diesel engine. The truck is also equipped with a five speed standard transmission, a tow package, and more.
Last, but certainly not least, is IDIDieselJohn’s 1987 Ford Econoline 350 motorhome. This rig has 289,000 km (180,000 miles) on it and runs on a 6.9L Diesel engine.
All that he hopes to do in the future with this machine is paint the hood. IDIDieselJohn is clearly a fan of Ford, and rightly so.
Go drop by his garage and leave some comments, browse, the photography, and have a good time! Be sure to keep your garage up to date and maybe you’ll be featured!
