Relive The 2017 Raptor Announcement Again!
The pros of announcing a truck in early 2015 that won’t be available until model year 2017 are obvious. Ford, with the 2017 Raptor, has ample time to build up the anticipation for one of their hottest-selling trucks.
The cons are also obvious; we want the truck now! Thankfully, Ford shared the video of the press announcement so Raptor fans world-wide can watch it over, and over, and over again!

In case you’ve been in a nuclear bunker the past week, the 2017 Raptor is powered by a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 making more power and torque than the previous 6.2L V8.
Power is sent to a driver-selectable 4WD system via Ford’s first 10-speed automatic transmission. It’s part of a partnership with General Motors, and if it’s anything like the automatic in the new Corvette, it’ll be pretty good (manufacturing is in-house with Ford)!
The Fox Racing shocks remain, but are larger than before, and the new Raptor has even more suspension travel!
A computerized off-road management system adds to the old Raptor’s Off-Road Mode to bring even more capability to the masses.
Plus, it’s lighter than the previous truck by 500 pounds. But don’t think for a moment that Ford is going to skimp on the luxury.
The awesome seats make a return in the new truck, and Sync 3’s infotainment system is on tap to keep the tunes coming. Also, we expect to see some special off-road treats in the display in the instrument cluster as well.
