Does the Ford F-150 Have Too Much Technology?
The Ford F-150 is practically the Mercedes-Benz of pickup trucks. Technology often debuts in this truck before it appears in other Ford products, or before other manufacturers decide to adopt it for their own trucks. Most recently, Ford debuted the Pro Trailer Backup Assist that’ll be an option for the 2016 F-150. Does the F-150 have too much technology?
Our friends over at Tundra Headquarters posed this same question to Tundra owners, but in the other direction. Where the F-150 can be had with automatic trailer backup, a 360° camera, and even an integrated trailer brake controller, the Tundra does not have anything like that.
While I know none of you would consider purchasing a Tundra as your next truck, I am willing to bet some of you would appreciate a truck with less tech. It’s less stuff that’ll potentially fail in the future, and advanced technology also contributes to the rising cost of the pickup truck.
The one advantage to the F-150 is, if you don’t want all the fancy doodads you can order your truck without them.
So I ask you, does the technology in the F-150 make the truck more appealing, less appealing, or does it not make a difference to you?
