Top 10 Trucks Most Likely To Last 250K Miles (or More)!
These are the top 10 trucks most likely to last 250k or more miles, including more than one Ford product.
The Long Haul
Trucks have long held a reputation as being amongst the toughest vehicles one can buy, which is somewhat necessitated by their very nature. After all, truck owners use them and abuse them, and thus, expect those vehicles to be capable of standing up to that punishment. In iSeeCars' latest list of the top vehicles that are the most likely to make it to the 250k mark (or beyond it), we get a good look at the best of the best in that regard thanks to data accumulated via an analysis of 260 million vehicle transactions.
Alas, the Ford Ranger, at 14, and the Ford F-150, at 11, just missed this top 10 ranking, but if you're a fellow Ford truck enthusiast, you're going to like where Ford placed on the rest of this list.
10. Ram 3500
Coming in at number 10 on this particular list is the Ram 3500, which has a 24.3 percent chance of making it to the quarter-million mile mark. That's 2.1 times better than the average truck, which has a 25.9 percent chance of making it that far in life.
9. Ram 2500
The Ram 3500 is joined by its slightly-less heavy-duty counterpart, the Ram 2500, which ranks just one spot ahead of it. The Ram 2500 has a 26.3 percent chance of making it to the 250k-mile mark, which is 1.0 times better than the average truck.
8. Chevrolet Avalanche
Though heavy-duty trucks dominate this particular list, there are plenty of light-duty models present as well, including the Chevy Avalanche. This somewhat niche product is no longer being built and sold, but it has a 26.7 percent chance of making it to the quarter-million mile mark.
7. Chevrolet Silverado 1500
That trend continues with the Chevy Silverado 1500 - the Ford F-150's chief rival - which has a 31 percent chance of making it to 250k miles - which is 1.2 times better than the average truck.
6. Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
The Silverado 2500HD, on the other hand, ranks sixth on this list thanks to the fact that it has a 41.2 percent chance of lasting to this particular mark, which is 1.6 times better than average.
5. GMC Sierra 2500HD
Meanwhile, the Sierra 2500HD - the Silverado HD's more luxurious twin - ranks just ahead of it with a 41.3 percent chance of making it to 250k miles, which is also 1.6 times higher than average.
4. Toyota Tacoma
Breaking our trend here is the Toyota Tacoma, as the mid-size pickup ranked fourth on this new list with a 41.7 percent chance of making it to a quarter-million miles or beyond - also 1.6 times higher than the average truck.
3. Ford F-250 Super Duty
As we get near the top, the Ford F-250 Super Duty manages to take the third spot on our list by giving owners a 43.6 percent chance of hitting 250k miles or more, which is 1.7 times better than the mean.
2. Toyota Tundra
Ranking ahead of the F-250 with a 47.9 of hitting 250k miles is the Toyota Tundra, another F-150 rival that is 1.8 times more likely to make it that far than its competition.
1. Ford F-350 Super Duty
Finally, in first place, the Ford F-350 Super Duty dominates this particular list thanks to the fact that it has a 49.1 percent chance of making it to or past the quarter-century mark - 1.9 times better than average. It is worth noting, however, that the Ford F-150 (11th) and Ford Ranger (13th) finished just outside our top 10, too.
