Things Tougher than a Ford Truck

The slogan "Built Ford Tough" didn't come into being for nothing, the F-Series trucks have a worldwide reputation for being tough and dependable. While a Ford may be the toughest truck around, there are some things that are tougher still.

1. Diamonds

With every fresh iteration of the F-Series, Ford manages to outdo themselves, upping the specifications and improving the technology, all the while keeping remarkably true to its classic pickup durability. Although the next few years of Ford trucks may see developments that  emphasize efficiency and green technologies, chances are they aren't going to get any less "Ford tough". Of course that means that the next generation of trucks will be tougher than this one, but will it be tougher than these 5 things?

Diamonds are well-regarded the world over for their beauty, but they are also one of the hardest substances known to man.The fact that they are the hardest natural material known is part of the reason why they're used to symbolize the commitment of marriage. Some may say that diamonds are tougher than the components of a Ford truck, however, no amount of diamonds is as useful as any old F-150. We're also sure there's got to be a girl out there who would prefer to say "I do" to the roar of a 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6, as you slip the key ring over her finger.

2. M1 Abrams Tank

If the comparison between a Ford truck and diamonds was a little abstract, this United States military's armored mainstay is here to make things a little more cut and dry. Costing just over $8 million dollars per unit, what isn't invested in the tank's impressive weapons power is geared towards its thick plated armor. The M1 Abrams is quite a bit tougher than anything Ford is currently mass-producing, and it destroyed that Chevy like nothing. If the tank didn't blow the truck up, it surely would just run it over, but then the tank tops out at just 45 mph. Not only can you more than double that speed in an F-150, you could probably literally drive circles around the tank faster than its gun could pivot.

3. Asking the Prettiest Girl in Town to the Dance

A Ford truck is designed to take you wherever you need to be, whether it's up a mountain or across town. However, all the impressive horsepower and carrying weight in the world won't do anything to quell the nervous butterflies in your stomach as you make your way towards her. What if she says no? A new F-150 will never say no to you, and it is luxurious enough inside to take a girl out in, if she does say yes.

4. Getting the Pac-Man World Record

Pac-Man combined a universal love of food, with a universal fear of ghosts, to create an arcade classic. The absolute highest possible score in Pac-Man requires the player to clear 256 screens of food pellets without being touched once by the ghosts. It's only been accomplished by a few people to date, and it seriously takes hours to do. Your time is much better spent behind the wheel of a Ford truck anyways.

5. Surviving Without the Proper Doomsday Preparations

Horsepower will begin to mean less and less to even the most diehard gearheads once the mushroom clouds start dotting the horizon. A proper survival bunker should come packed with at least three months' worth of supplies and provisions to keep you guarded in every situation. If the worst case scenario comes and you're not ready for it, your prospects of survival will be tenuous at best. Ford trucks are definitely tough, but it's safe to say they're not as tough as that, unless we are talking about one powered by the IDI diesel, or the stone age 300/4.9 liter straight six.
