Top 10 Things New Super Duty Owners Do With Their Trucks!
From just being excited about bringing it home to putting it right to work, these are the top ten things people are doing with their 2026 Super Duty trucks.
Factory Fresh... For Now
Back in early February, we did an article about what most owners were doing with the Ford Super Duty. It was based on a Ford Truck Enthusiasts thread that was started way back in 2012. That thread is still going strong with over 109,000 replies at this point.
But what about the NEWEST 2026 Ford Super Duty trucks?
Once again, we turn to our forum members for inspiration. In July of this year, Ford Truck Enthusiasts member brandon4 started a thread with the title “What did you do to Your 2026 Super Duty Today?” in the 2023+ Super Duty forum. With just 62 replies so far, there is nowhere near the amount of activity as the older thread. And that is to be expected with the 2026 trucks being in very few hands at this point compared to all other Super Duty trucks. However, there is still some interesting insight here. Especially if you are considering getting a new Super Duty. It may be helpful to see what others are doing with their new trucks.
1. Working (Of Course!)
The Ford Super Duty is a work truck, and many users actually use it that way. There are plenty of pictures in this thread of people towing with their Super Duty either for work or for pleasure. That is what these trucks are made for, so it is good to see them being used properly.
2. Adding Lights
Additional lighting is always a good idea and that is one of the first things that some Super Duty owners are doing. Popular mods are adding grille lights up front as well as adding rear lights to the bumper. You have upfitter switches for a reason, so you may as well use them.
3. Install Bed Cap
It may not be the most practical upgrade if you routinely haul tall objects, but outside of that, a bed cap can enhance the practicality and security of your truck. The extra weight back there can also settle the ride when you are driving without a load.
4. Install Tremor Air Dam
If you are driving your Super Duty off-road regularly, you may want to consider swapping out the standard front air dam for the one that comes in the Tremor package. It provides more ground clearance and will reduce the number of times you smack the air dam on a rock. It is a simple mod, but it can make a big difference in the right conditions.
5. Road Trips
Plenty of people have been taking their new Super Duty on extended road trips. Forum member, RolllingM, took the Super Duty on a 3,300-mile trip crossing 8 different states. The truck handled the trip without any issues and shrugged off some nasty crosswinds while in Wyoming.
6. Added a Tool Box
Work trucks and tools go together like peanut butter and banana sandwiches for late-era Elvis. That's why adding a toolbox to the bed is a popular modification for 2026 Ford Super Duty owners. Keep your tools close by and safe and secure with a toolbox in the back of your Super Duty.
7. Added Auxiliary Fuel Tank
The Super Duty isn’t exactly a Toyota Prius when it comes to gas mileage. And most owners hate stopping for fuel or simply don’t want to interrupt their trip in order to do so. For these folks, an auxiliary fuel tank is a good idea. Adding a 50-gallon auxiliary fuel tank is one mod that was mentioned in the thread. As good as the Super Duty is, it is worthless when it has no fuel. This mod ensures that won’t happen.
8. Brought It Home
Remember, these are the newest Super Duty trucks available. So, in this thread, several members replied simply that they finally took delivery of their truck and were able to bring it home. Ford some, it was their first Super Duty, but most are loyal Super Duty owners, and this new one is just the latest in a long line of Super Dutys. There are few things as exciting as bringing your new truck home, and you need to have your truck before you can start modifying it anyway.
9. Coding
Some folks reported that they got a ForScan tool and modified their truck with code. There are nearly 100 different settings you can change in order to make your truck perfect for you. Things such as deactivating TPMS and Bambi Mode (allowing high beams and fog lights) are some of the more popular changes.
10. Install Bug Deflector
This may sound silly, but a bug deflector can have major benefits. Not only do they keep your truck cleaner by reducing the number of bugs that hit your hood and windshield, but they can also deflect rocks and prevent costly and unsightly paint chips on the hood. A bug deflector can also reduce the number of stones that can hit and chip or crack your windshield. This is one mod that can pay for itself.
