This 1970 Ford F-100 Has Been in the Same Family for 50 Years
This cool green vintage pickup has only been out of that family for a few years now.
Single Family
As loyal as Ford truck fans are to their rides, it's no surprise to see many examples out there that are still in the possession of the original owner or family, at the very least. That's also the case with this particular 1970 Ford F-100 that recently crossed the virtual block at Bring a Trailer, which has lived most all of its life with the same Arizona-based family, at least until it was sold to the previous owner back in 2018.
Proud Patina
Of the 50 or so years this F-100 lived with that family, half of that time was spent in storage, as is often the case with old pickups once their owners pass away or the need for that truck goes away. Regardless, this Boxwood Green F-100 still wears its original patina and looks extra cool, at least to us, in spite of its flaws.
Interesting Features
Aside from the typical scratches and flaws found on vintage pickups like this that actually got used, this F-100 also sports some interesting features including a New Lime-painted roof, a fender-mounted antenna, a rear ball hitch, two white-painted Reading bed rail storage boxes, and Western Long Arm towing mirrors.
Few Amenities
The interior is rather tidy for a truck of this age that has seen its fair share of use and abuse and is finished in a two-tone green vinyl with amenities including a push-button AM radio, a Montgomery Ward Riverside under-dash air conditioner, and not much else to speak of.
Easy Cruising
Power for this vintage pickup comes from Ford's 360 cubic-inch V8 that's been treated to a tune-up, fluid changes, and replacement valve cover gaskets in recent months. The powerplant is mated to a three-speed automatic transmission for easy cruising.
Rolling Stock
The cool old green pickup rolls on a set of timeless white-painted 15-inch steel wheels fitted with polished hub caps and wrapped with 235/75 white-stripe Hankook Optimo H724 tires, while four-wheel drum brakes bring the whole thing to a halt when needed.
Good As-Is
This simple, honest, and downright cool 1970 F-100 certainly has its flaws, but for the selling price of just $13,000, seems like one heck of a bargain in today's crazy market. Whoever was lucky enough to win this particular auction has a nice, reliable ride they can cruise around in as-is or fix it up into a nice show rig, depending on their preference.
