Fits the Bill

It isn't exactly a secret that we're bonkers for '70s Ford trucks around these parts. And our many fans and members feel exactly the same way we do. So when we come across an amazing example of the breed, it's basically our obligation to bring it to you. And this gorgeous red '76 Ford F-150 we recently spotted in the Hemmings classifieds certainly fits that bill.

Shaving Mirror

For starters, this pickup is in absolutely amazing condition. The bodywork is as straight as an arrow, and the paint shines so bright we wouldn't be afraid to use it as a shaving mirror. And with the exception of a brush guard with a couple of lights mounted up front, it's also pretty much stock on the outside.

Taking Advantage

This particular F-150 is also a four-wheel-drive, which is fairly rare for this generation of pickup. A previous owner took full advantage of that fact, stuffing the wheel wells with a set of classic chrome wheels wrapped in some knobby all-terrain tires for the perfect look.

Perfect Stance

Thus, this F-150 has the perfect stance for both paved and unpaved surfaces. Painted red, it's also a timeless look that pairs nicely with lots of chrome trim. And let's be honest with ourselves - is there really a classic truck of any make or model that looks as good as this?

Nice Compliment

Regardless, we often see some pretty dirty or undetailed engine bays on these sorts of old trucks, even if the exterior is in immaculate condition. That isn't the case here. The engine bay is highly detailed and fitted with plenty of dress-up parts that make it worthy of complementing the exterior of the F-150.

More of the Same

Inside the cab, it's more of the same - simple, clean, and well sorted. The flat bench seat is in fantastic shape, all of the painted parts look perfect, and all the black trim is in fantastic condition. It's everything you need, and nothing you don't.

None Better

So go ahead and try to find a better truck out there in the world than a well-sorted '70s Ford. With each and every fine example we come across, our argument just keeps getting stronger. There's just nothing better than a Blue Oval pickup from this era, and no one can convince us otherwise.
