Period Correct

It's no secret that we love our '70s Ford trucks around these parts. Nor that we like the ones that retain their distinct vintage vibe. That typically excludes aftermarket wheels, of course, but there are some that just look right at home on these pickups. With that being said, one certainly can never go wrong with a set of white wagon wheels like the ones on this '78 Ford F-150 we spotted over at Hemmings

Nice Contrast

There was a long period of time when you'd see these wheels on just about every truck in your local town. And for good reason - they still look great today, offering up a nice contrast to any truck's shade of paint. In this case, they look super nice on what is truly a super clean classic F-150. The fact that it's a short bed, regular cab model doesn't hurt, either.

Nice Touch

Those attributes alone make this F-150 a desirable pickup, especially when you also consider that it's a factory four-wheel-drive model. But there are many other reasons to covet the classic Ford as well. The paint, for starters, is an older respray, but it still looks great. And the seller took the time to locate these wheels and powder coat them, which is obviously a nice touch.

Cared For

The wheels were then wrapped with 33" BFGoodrich all-terrain rubber, which certainly looks right at home. Otherwise, this pickup is mostly stock and in pretty amazing condition. With just over 130k miles on the clock, it's obviously been well taken care of over the last few decades.

Perfect Combo

If all of that isn't '70s enough for you, open the door and take a peek inside the cabin. There, you'll find nothing short of a bunch of brown goodness, starting with a bench seat that's been recovered in the truck's original fabric. The combination of these carefully selected colors is absolutely something you don't see anymore, and likely won't again.

Granny Gear

Pop the hood, and you'll find the original 400 V8 looking a bit dusty but no worse for wear. The engine has been resealed and fitted with a new cam and bearings, so it should be good to go for many more miles. It's also backed up by the original 4-speed manual transmission, with a granny gear just like they used to come.

Lots of Life Left

With a new set of shocks in place, the seller claims that this classic Ford rides and handles like new. And judging by how good it looks, we don't doubt that one bit. This F-150 just looks like a pickup that hasn't lived half of its usable life just yet.

Timeless Find

Trucks certainly don't get much nicer than this '78 Ford F-150, at least where it counts. Throw in some classic '70s style, and you've got a pickup that possesses some seriously timeless style. As the years continue to pass, that's not something we're always guaranteed to see a lot, either.
