Ranger Raptor X Is Yet Another Cool Variant We Can't Get
The Ranger Raptor X is mostly just an appearance package, but a darn good one at that.
New Variant
In America, Ranger fans have few options when it comes to special edition variants - namely, the Tremor off-road package, and that's about it. But in other parts of the world like Australia, buyers have a plethora of cool Rangers to choose from. Now, they have one more, as Ford recently revealed the new Ranger Raptor X, which is essentially an appearance package for the rugged off-roader, but a good one nonetheless.

Mustang Inspired
The Ranger Raptor X takes some exterior cues from the Mustang with its over-the-top stripes, along with some side body stripes to give it a truly unique look. Additionally, the pickup has been treated to a matte black grille, door handles, rear bumper cover, tailgate handle, fender vent and fog light bezel.

Finishing Touches
The Ranger Raptor X rolls on the same wheels as the regular Ranger Raptor, but they've been treated to a unique Asphalt Black matte finish to make them stand out. Out back, it features the same extended leg sports bar that debuted on the FX4 Max last year.

Cabin Accents
Inside the cabin, the Ranger Raptor X features a new accent package that takes inspiration from the exterior decal design, with red contrast stitching on the steering wheel and dash replacing the original blue stitching, while Hydrographic and Black Alley accents across the dashboard and door panels distinguish it from the regular Raptor.

Diesel Power
Other than these visual enhancements, the rest of the Ranger Raptor X is unchanged. That means it's still powered by Ford's bi-turbo 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder diesel, which produces 211 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, which flows through a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Eye Catcher
Regardless, for those seeking serious off-road capability in a more eye-catching package, the Ranger Raptor X certainly fits the bill. Unfortunately, if you happen to live in North America, however, don't expect to see one sitting on your local dealer lot.
