Pristine 1988 Ford F-150 Packs One Hefty Price Tag
Daily Slideshow: If you're willing to shell out the cash, you could own the nicest 1988 Ford F-150 we've ever seen.
Crazy Price, Amazing Truck
As you've probably already noticed, prices of solid older Ford trucks are getting pretty high. But as a general rule, pickups from the '80s and '90s have been relatively immune to this rising tide. So when we spotted this amazingly clean 1988 Ford F-150 selling for nearly $55k at Vanguard Motor Sales, we were a little taken back. But even that crazy price doesn't detract from what is perhaps the nicest '88 F-150 on the planet.

Well Kept
Flawless doesn't even begin to describe this incredible find, which reportedly has traveled only 14k miles over the last three-plus decades. Apparently, the farmer that owned it originally babied the pickup and kept it stored indoors.

Barely Used
Those noble efforts have left this older F-150 looking like brand new, no matter where you look. Just check out this amazing interior, which barely looks like anyone has ever even sat in it.

You Can't Hide
The engine bay is equally sanitary. The original 302 shines like new, and is connected to the original AOD transmission. Sure, everything here has been professionally detailed, but this is usually one place where you can't hide wear and tear.

Fair Weather Cruiser
Another telling area is the undercarriage, where road grime tends to soil and corrode things quickly. And yet, you won't find any wear underneath this beautiful truck. Clearly, it's never seen any sort of inclement weather in its day.

Well Equipped
The F-150 was special-ordered by its original owner and is subsequently nicely equipped. With the Ranger XLT package, it's a handsome truck with most of the bells and whistles available in 1988.

Classic Ford
And really, does it get any better than a blue and white two-tone paint job? Throw in some shiny chrome and trim pieces, and this truck is guaranteed to turn heads wherever it goes. It just has that classic Ford truck look that everyone loves.

Almost Stock
The F-150 is mostly stock, but does come with a suspension lift and bigger BF Goodrich tires. But in our humble opinion, it looks great. Changing it back to stock wouldn't be too hard, either, if you so wish.

High and Dry
Of course, a truck that's traveled this few miles always brings concerns about all the rubber seals and pieces. But so long as this pickup was stored in a dry place, it should be good to go for a while.

Love at First Sight
So sure, the price of this beautiful F-150 is certainly hard to swallow. But we doubt you'll find a nicer example of this vintage anywhere else. And all it takes is one person to fall in love and drop the cash, right?
