Worlds Collide

Years ago, the original F-150 Lightning burst onto the scene and helped solidify the emerging sport truck trend. However, times changed and people began to show a preference for off-road-focused trucks, which is why Ford created the F-150 Raptor. But what if we combined those two worlds and transformed the Raptor into more of an on-road performance machine? Well, it might look something like these renderings from artist Brad Builds.

Build Your Own

Plenty of folks have spent plenty of money upgrading the performance of their F-150 Raptors, and for good reason - they're already quick from the factory, but a few mods can make them much quicker. But what is a sport truck fan to do when Ford doesn't currently sell a ground-hugging, high-performance model? Well, you can build your own, and these renderings actually look pretty good to us.

Meaty Meats

The F-150 Raptor's wide body and aggressive styling lend themselves well to the lowered look, particularly because Brad utilized a beefier set of tires here - no low profile meats wrapped around massive wheels, as is usually the case with these kinds of renderings. In fact, these particular tires are 37 inches, according to the artist himself.

Pretty Useful

At this point, the comments section usually fills up with folks declaring such a build "worthless" and "ruined," but Brad notes that this truck is also equipped with an air suspension. That means the Raptor can be raised up when needed, and as we've seen on numerous occasions, air suspensions work pretty darn well off-road, too.

Exterior Treatment

The big tires are wrapped around a set of Fuel Off-Road Block wheels, which fit the look of the pickup perfectly, and as far as exterior paint colors go, well, you get a variety of choices here. Aside from the gray tone of the main renderings, Brad has also provided a few additional choices including everything from green to pink.

Best of Both Worlds

Brad doesn't mention any sort of performance mods, but personally, we think that would represent the proverbial icing on the cake with this build. That way, it could truly represent the best of both worlds, maintaining its off-road chops while also being capable of airing down and cruising the streets when it's not navigating trails.

Fresh Idea

Of course, many will simply dismiss these renderings as silly and unrealistic, but let's just keep in mind that they're only imaginary drawings - not a real truck. Personally, we love to see folks use their imaginations and come up with fresh ideas, and that's certainly the case here.
