Gorgeous 1949 Ford F1 Looks Better Than New
First-gens don't get much better than this.
First-Gen Stunner
The first-generation Ford F-Series is obviously an iconic vehicle that gave birth to one of the greatest models in automotive history, one that tops the best-selling list annually, even today. For those seeking a nice first-gen pickup, they simply don't get much better than this 1949 F1 that recently crossed the block at Bring a Trailer, too.

No Flaws
As they say, black paint is for those that have nothing to hide, and there are certainly no flaws to be found on the bodywork of this F1. It's straight as an arrow and shiny as can be, even if the paint job is quite a few years old at this point.

Old Fashioned
In addition to its flawless bodywork, this old F1 also sports some nifty touches including wooden bed stakes with Firestone branding, shiny chrome bumpers, a wood bed floor, a red Ford logo on the tailgate, and some old-fashioned 15" steel wheels with chrome caps and Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewall tires.

Clean Cabin
Peek inside the cabin, and you'll find more flawless work consisting of a brown vinyl bench seat, which is surrounded by black-painted surfaces. There aren't many features or amenities present inside, but that's par for the course when you're talking about old pickups.

Utilitarian
This particular F1 does have a heater and defroster, as well as rubber floor mats, crank windows, and a big three-spoke steering wheel, so what more could you want? Perhaps some air conditioning for these hot summers, but otherwise, it's all about utility here.

Enjoy the Ride
The same goes for what lies under the hood, as this F1's 226 cubic-inch inline six-cylinder engine won't blow your socks off with its modest output, but that isn't the point here. This truck was meant to work, back when that's pretty much all trucks did. Thus, you can simply sit back and enjoy the ride while shifting through all three gears manually.

Head Turner
This beautifully finished pickup ultimately sold for $34k, which seems like a very reasonable price for such a nicely-done classic. We have no doubt that it will serve its new owner well, and turn heads every time they decide to take it out, too.
