Ford Ranger 6x6 Is the Craziest Thing You'll See Today

Most 6x6 trucks command big money, but that wasn't the case with this wild Ranger.

More Wheels on a Budget

Those that want to buy a 6x6 truck these days have several choices, though all of them are incredibly expensive. However, the owner of this Ford Ranger 6x6 clearly built it on a budget, and the results are, well, interesting, to say the least. This homemade off-roader was also recently listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace, where it presumably found a new home quickly, because who can resist such a fun little toy?

Solid Base

This build started life as a regular old 1995 Ranger extended cab, but now it's much, much more than the average compact pickup. The ad itself leaves much to the imagination, however. We do know that this truck is powered by Ford's venerable 4.0-liter Cologne V6, which made 160 hp and 225 pound-feet torque when new, and this one has just 125k miles on it.

Hydraulically Steered

The bulk of the work took place underneath this truck, however, where you'll find a pair of rear axles lifted from a military vehicle of some sort, which are also hydraulically steered. That makes the little pickup far more maneuverable, even though it's now much longer than any other 1995 Ranger on the planet.

Big Everything

As one might imagine, the bed has been chopped up and lengthened to make room for the extra set of rollers, while the seller also fitted a massive 60-gallon fuel tank in the pickup to feed the thirsty V6. There's also a ginormous front bumper that was certainly custom made, to boot.

Price of Admission

The asking price for all of this goodness was a reasonable $8,000, which seems like a small amount of money to pay for something that would obviously be a ton of fun to drive around off-road. Plus, you're pretty much guaranteed to be the only person around with a Ranger 6x6, which is worth the price of admission alone.
