VelociRaptor 6X6: Pure Aggression on Six Wheels From SEMA
If you find the regular Raptor to be a bit "boring," let us introduce you to the less subdued VelociRaptor 6x6.
1. Pure Aggression on Six Wheels
In stock form, Ford's Raptor is already one of the most capable vehicles on the planet. With a 450hp, twin-turbo V6, a suspension fit for Baja racing, and some of the most advanced technology available today, it's hard to imagine wanting more. But, as it turns out, many folks do. Enter Hennessey Performance, purveyors of making crazy vehicles even more insane.

2. Making a Hot Truck Even Hotter
Hennessey has built it's hotter version of the Raptor, dubbed the VelociRaptor since Ford originally introduced the public to its world-beating off-roader. And when Ford rolled out the all-new 2017 model, Hennessey was right behind them with the VelociRaptor 600. The insane truck uses a host of performance upgrades to produce 605 hp and 622 lb-ft of torque, good enough for a 4.2-second 0-60 time and 12.9-second quarter mile.

3. Six Is Better Than Four
It stands to reason that the regular old VelociRaptor is more than enough to satisfy even the most extreme truck fanatics. And yet, Hennessey is building something even more insane - the VelociRaptor 6x6. Introduced to the world at the 2017 SEMA show, the 6x6 name comes from the truck's six wheels, all of which are driven. Hennessey calls it "the ultimate off-road vehicle," and we're not going to argue with that lofty claim.

4. Upgrades Galore
Aside from the extra set of locking axles, the VelociRaptor 6x6 sports pretty much everything you'd want in a pickup truck. That includes the VelociRaptor's 600+ horsepower, an upgraded Fox suspension, 20-inch wheels wrapped in off-road Toyo rubber, and VelociRaptor front and rear bumpers, roll bar, and LED lights. A Brembo 6-caliper brake upgrade is also available for an extra $22,000.

5. Extreme Capabilities, Extreme Cost
Obviously, a truck like this doesn't exactly come cheap, if you didn't already guess from the price of the brake upgrade. If you want to get behind the wheel of a six-wheeled VelociRaptor, expect to shell out at least $295,000. That might seem like an absurd amount of money for a truck, well, because it is. But at least you'll be part of a pretty exclusive club because Hennessey only intends on building 50 examples of this insane beast.

6. Do the Ends Justify the Means?
It's obviously pretty hard to justify the insane cost of a VelociRaptor 6x6, especially when you consider the regular package only runs around $35,000 (minus the cost of the donor Raptor). Essentially, you're getting the same thing, just with an extra set of axles and wheels. But as we've already seen with the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen 6x6, there are a select few who are willing to pay the price for something so extreme.

7. (Intentionally) Not for Everyone
And that's exactly why things like the VelociRaptor 6x6 exist - for a select few. “The VelociRaptor 6X6 is the ultimate off-road vehicle,” John Hennessey explained. “We will be building just 50 VelociRaptor 6X6’s, which makes it not only one of the most aggressive and unique vehicles on the market but also one of the most exclusive. Our VelociRaptor 6X6 is pure aggression on wheels – all six of them.”
