"F-This" 1956 Ford F-100 Is Going Up for Auction
Fresh off an appearance at the Petersen Automotive Museum, this F-100 is hitting the auction block soon.
Special Build
Barrett-Jackson's flagship Scottsdale auction never fails to bring the heat in terms of cool customs and supremely rare and valuable vehicles, year in and year out. This time around, that includes this very special 1956 Ford F-100 nicknamed "F-This." Completed back in 2005, the custom pickup was built by Jordon Quintal of Super Rides with some assistance from Chip Foose.

Heavy Massaging
This F-100 is obviously heavily modified in every manner, including its completely reshaped and smoothed-out exterior. The cowl was sectioned, while the top was chopped by a full three inches. But heavier work was completed when the front fenders were moved forward and the rear fenders were raised up and widened to accommodate fatter tires.

Controversial Choice
Under the hood lies a 502 cubic-inch Chevy V8 that's been punched out to 540 cubic-inches and features a block that's been machined, bored, and stroked. The controversial choice of powerplant at least makes gobs of power thanks to its giant blower, which extracts over 800 horsepower from the Bow Tie mill.

Agreeable Cabin
The interior of this classic pickup is more agreeable to the masses thanks to the beautiful custom black and tan snake leather that covers the seats, dash, and parts of the door panels. Almost everything you see here is custom, save for the thumping JL stereo system.

Always in Style
A set of suicide doors adds to the intrigue, while the exhaust is routed beneath, exiting through the custom running boards that no one is going to step on now. Throw in a set of big and little wheels and tires, and you've got a classic hot rod look that'll never go out of style.

Textbook Example
The big-block sends its power to those massive rear tires via a five-speed manual transmission, which is the way it should be. Thus, it's no wonder this custom pickup has spent some time on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum recently, as it's a textbook example of a timeless build.

No Reserve
Though it's being sold with no reserve, given its prominence and history, we have no doubt this '56 F-100 will rake in decent money at auction. Regardless, we won't have to wait long to find out, because the Scottsdale auction takes place March 20-27.
