Support Team

M-Sport - Ford's official UK-based World Rally Championship (WRC) team, has been winning races and championships since it was originally created way back in 1979. But as every rally fan knows, a solid support team is needed for such efforts, which is why M-Sport has a bevy of trucks at its disposal as well. That includes these two special models - a Ford F-Max and Ranger MS-RT - which have been decked out just like their Fiesta WRC counterparts.

Playing a Role

"It's not all just about the rally cars…This weekend at Ypres Rally, Belgium, the all-new MS-RT Ranger, and F-Max Tractor Unit joined in on the action, both sporting our 2021 event livery. Not only looking smart and on-brand, but each vehicle also fills integral roles within the team, both on and off-event, teamwork at its best!" M-Sport said in its post.

Eye Catching

Both vehicles sport liveries that tout the team's sponsors, including Pirelli, Sparco, and Castrol. The color schemes match M-Sport's Fiesta WRC models as well, with touches of blue, white, teal, and green meshing together for a truly eye-catching combination.

Blue Oval Big Rig

While the F-Max may look a bit strange to those of us living in the U.S., it's a familiar sight in Europe, where the heavy-duty truck has been in production since 2018. The big rig is powered by Ford's 12.7-liter Ecotorq Euro 6 engine, which produces 368 kW (500 hp) and 2500 Nm (1,844 pound-feet) of torque and is mated to a 12-speed ZF Traxon transmission.

Road-Going Pickup

The Ranger MS-RT, on the other hand, is yet another version of Ford's mid-size pickup that isn't on sale in the U.S. A sporty version of the Ranger, the MS-RT is based on the Wildtrak trim, but with more of a focus on on-road performance. That much is reflected by the bespoke exterior sporting a completely new body kit with wide fenders.

Notable Features

Other notable features of this special Ranger MS-RT include 20-inch OZ Racing wheels, revised bumpers, a larger air intake, and the Ranger Raptor's 2.0-liter EcoBlue bi-turbo diesel, producing 210 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque, which flows to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Future of Rally

As far as M-Sport goes, this is the last season it will be competing with the Fiesta WRC, as next year will see the debut of the new Puma Rally1, which will introduce hybrid power to the long-running rally series for the very first time.
