1979 Ford F-150 Is as Clean as They Come
A former dealer demo, this F-150 still has less than 100k miles on the clock.
No Worse For Wear
Dealer demo vehicles sometimes have a reputation for being a bit, well, used. But in the case of this 1979 Ford F-150 previously featured at Bring a Trailer, the fact that it served as a dealer demo until it was originally sold in June of 1980 isn't a bad thing at all. Today, this gorgeous pickup looks no worse for wear and has less than 100k miles on the clock to boot.

Driven Sparingly
When this F-150 was sold to its very first owner, it already had 10k miles on the clock, which is pretty impressive. However, it has been driven rather sparingly in the years since, racking up 92k and changing hands just once back in 2019, amazingly enough, when the original owner sold it to a dealer.

Clean and Mostly Original
The truck's Dark Brown Metallic paint was resprayed back in 2010, at which time the grill, beltline trim, and window seals were all replaced. The F-150 rolls on a set of steel wheels that were previously powder-coated in Wimbleton White, and feature the factory hub caps along with a set of BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires.

Matching Insides
Inside, this vintage pickup features a matching brown interior with some original options including tilt steering and cruise control. Occupants sit on an old-fashioned bench seat with a fold-down armrest, while the tufted vinyl headliner is a nice '70s throwback.

Replacement
Pop the hood, and you'll find a remanufactured replacement 351 cubic-inch V8 that has around 58k miles on it. The replacement engine was installed at a Ford dealer back in 1991, and features a rebuilt carb along with a fairly new radiator, fuel pump, fuel lines, exhaust system, and battery.

Fine Example
This fairly fresh drivetrain is rounded out by a C6 three-speed automatic transmission, a two-speed transfer case, and a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential with 3.50 gears. Overall, it's a very nice example of this beloved generation of the F-Series pickup, even if it isn't finished in the most desirable color ever.
