Sweet Brothers Restomods Creates a 1979 Raptor
This 1979 Ford F-150 is practically a 2014 Raptor underneath... But with a lot more power.
1979 F-150 X 2014 Raptor
Restomod projects are often centered around the idea of combining the classic beauty and timeless style of older trucks with modern technology. And few exemplify that ideology better than this 1979 Ford F-150 with 2014 Ford Raptor performance. The Sweet Brothers build boasts the ultra-popular aesthetics of the '70s Ford and a modern Raptor chassis and power plant.

Super Truck Underneath
We don't think anyone here needs to be reminded of the outrageous capabilities of the 2014 Ford F-150 Raptor. Although Ford has already topped the performance of the original Raptor with the second iteration, the original off-roading predator still defies logic in terms of what a pickup truck should be able to do.
Roush Power
Now imagine giving a '79 F-150 all the same performance, and then some. The stock 411 horsepower of the 6.2-liter V8 weren't quite enough for the Sweet Brothers. They had to go with a supercharged Roush mill that puts down 590 horses and 590 lb-ft. The slightly modified 79 Ford shell sits atop the Raptor chassis comfortably.
Modern Comforts
The modern tech doesn't stop with the structure underneath. The truck is also equipped with creature comforts such as heated and cooled seats, a modern Ford infotainment system, and of course, AC. You'll even hear the signature Ford beep when the doors are open. The interior panels have all been custom made with superb quality, adding to the ample comfort of the restomod truck.
Tame Exterior
The exterior hides the roaring Raptor underneath rather well. There are few subtle giveaways that this is no ordinary classic Ford truck, such as the pin pad buttons underneath the door handle and the flush-mounted cameras. Even the wheels have the classic style, decorated with the matching yellow and white two-tone of the body.
Successful Restomod
There is one more body modification, which can only be spotted by very perceptive enthusiasts. The cabin has been extended by 4 inches to create the correct fit for the chassis. It's a very subtle proportional alteration, but one that requires a great deal of work. All told, we can't think of a more successfully executed restomod that combines classic looks with modern tech.
