Standing Out

These days, it seems like it's getting harder and harder to find original or mostly original '70s Ford trucks. Many of them have been fully restored or modified, for obvious reasons. So when we spotted this beautiful '76 F-250 at 4 Wheel Classics, it caught our eye for standing out in that massive sea of modified rigs.

Fresh Respray

That's not to say that this truck hasn't received some work, of course. The previous owner gave the truck a fresh paint job around 3 years ago and coated the bed with some spray-in bed liner.

Original Hue

The blue color is believed to be the original hue, and we certainly appreciate that. It's an attractive shade, for sure, and one that we wouldn't bother trying to change, either.

Breath of Fresh Air

The paint and body look to be in excellent condition years later. And how about those modest wheels and tires? As many trucks as we see with massive rubber these days, it's almost a breath of fresh air to see these original-style rollers.

Sitting High

If nothing else, this F-250 clearly demonstrates why these trucks were called "Highboys." This truck sure sits up plenty high, even without the benefit of big wheels or tires.

Original Engine

Pop the hood, and you'll find the original 360 V8 still in place. The engine bay looks very clean and the truck is said to run and drive very nicely with no smoke or other issues.

Slight Refresh

The engine has been treated to a rebuilt carb and 3-inch exhaust, which undoubtedly gives it a nice sound. Shifts are handled by a 4-speed manual, sending power back to a Dana 60 rear end with 4.10 gears and up front to a Dana 44, also stuffed with 4.10 gears.

Fresh Duds

The interior was a little worn, so the previous owner fixed it up with new carpet, a new seat cover, and a new steering wheel. Everything except the horn is said to be in perfect working order.

Nice Driver

With power steering and power front disc brakes, this F-250 is undoubtedly a pleasure to drive. And with a new radiator in place, we bet it runs nice and cool, too.

Fix What's Broken

This beautiful F-250 is proof that the old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" still applies today. And when you've got a truck that's this good in the first place, why mess with it?
