1975 Ford F-250 Barn Find is Brought Back to Life
If it's more about the look and less about off-road performance, this classic 1975 Ford F-250 Prerunner build hits the sweet spot.
Making Due
There was once a time when two-wheel drive trucks ruled the world. But that time has obviously come to an end, and four-wheel drive is the only choice most truck owners would even consider these days. So what do you do if you can't find/afford/don't need a 4x4 classic Ford? You build a lifted 2wd like Ford Truck Enthusiasts member mofoco1.

Prime Opportunity
Sure, it might seem a little strange to want to lift a two-wheel drive truck. But Prerunners have been around for years, and they're often quite capable. In this case, a cool Supercab 1975 F-250 barn find was just something mofoco1 couldn't pass up, even though he wanted a lifted truck.

Mechanical Upgrades
He immediately began tearing into his new truck with plans on installing a 5-inch lift, sturdy front beams, poly bushings, and new shocks and brakes. Pretty much everything mechanical was in for an upgrade, and that was the prime focus of this build.

Miracle Start
The truck had been sitting for over 20 years, so mofoco1 wasn't quite sure what it would take to get it running at the very least. Surprisingly, all it took was a battery, fresh gas, and some miracle oil to do the deed. The brakes, on the other hand, were completely gone.

Tear Down
A quick wash revealed that this old truck was actually in pretty good shape with a patina the new owner wanted to preserve. So the next step was to begin tearing the truck down, along with a '78 parts donor he had also picked up.

New and Old
Everything suspension-wise that could be salvaged from the '78 was, and aftermarket parts filled the rest of the void. Taller springs and drilled/slotted rotors topped the list of new stuff that mofoco1 sprung some cash for.

Fill the Void
Little by little, the front suspension was coming together. In the meantime, he also picked up his new and much larger rolling stock to fill the void he was creating. In this case, that meant old school slotted wheels with 33" rubber.

Heart Surgery
With the meat of this build mostly finished, it was time to turn the focus to the drivetrain. So out came the original 390 so that it could receive a rebuild and some cosmetic and performance upgrades.

Freshened Up
With fresh insides (and outsides?), the 390 also received a fresh coat of paint. Not to mention headers and an aftermarket intake manifold and carb. And in the meantime, mofoco1 had found some larger 38" tires to fill the wheel wells.
