Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
My wife knows I have a love affair with 50 something Ford Trucks. She found this F350 at a garage/yard sale. The guy wanted $800 "firm" for her. I went over the next day, after the yard sale, and was looking at her. From the driver's side she looked very straight had the original flat bed on her but the passenger side was a different story. The guy told me he had gotten the truck by doing some electrical work for this woman and the truck had belonged to her husband who was in prison. She said he had just painted the truck and she was mad at him for whatever reason and rammed her car into the passenger side, which damaged the door, rear corner, rocker panel, floor pan, and door jam. While I'm looking at the inside door I can tell someone, I think it was the guy I bought it from, tried to use a 2x4 to push out the door damage. While trying to push out the door damage he damaged the roof. As I'm looking at the rear corner, its an inch separated from the spot weld, the guy tells me, "Oh, you can just wrap some ratched straps around and put a 2x4 here and that'll push right back into place." I was able to bring the guy down to $500. That evening I started taking the truck apart. I learned the front right fender had damage too but had a ton of filler in it, a huge piece of filler flaked off using just my thumb nail. So far it has been a project of love and hate (rather frustration).
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
239 with a 4 speed. From ID tag this vehicle came with a 3 speed, so someone replaced the 3 speed. I'm keeping it stock.
Suspension Modifications:
This came with the extra HD rear leaf springs. I've cleaned them up, put rust prevention on them, and painted them gloss black. They have new bushings and pins.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Part of my frustration, the wheels are semi-drop center wheels. I'm looking for one piece wheels. The wheels are 16x5.5 with six lugs. My plan is to stay as close to OEM as possible but with one piece wheels, which I'll probably have powder coated white.
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Interior is going to be stock. The truck was Forest Service Green but I'm leaning toward a Fire Engine Red.
