I just had a shop use Forscan to program tank info for an upgraded larger sb 60 gallon tank from a factory 26 gallon tank and it works. DTE shows larger quantity and the gauge goes down. Appears...
Correct. 48 is the largest value the truck will calculate on. S&B has a gateway module intercept recalibration device that will correct values to their actual tank size too ...

Lapping won't clean up the sealing surface on that valve. It'll have to be ground. Otherwise it's probably ok to use from what I can see in the picture. Question is, what does the seat look like?
