78 F150 351W headers?

I am swapping a 351w into my 78 F150 4x4,4spd manual, I am looking for some headers that will fit,I would prefer long tubes but shorties might have to make due. I am looking into the sanderson custom SBF block huggers headers. I know others have done this swap and hopefully can save me the headache of trial and erroring a bunch of different headers. Thanks

f250

Mine is a F250 and I didn't have any luck finding long tube headers that work. I ended up with some mid 80's mustang shorties.

Don't know if they fit 4x4, but lots of people are using Summit brand 79 F150/302 long tube headers.

I had been looking for a set of headers for my 78 f250 4x4 manual off and on for years and I just got a set of shorties from Advance Adapters, part #717044. They're made for a small block swap into a Bronco ll or Ranger and they look like they'll work. I'm gona try to get them on tomorrow and I'll update on how it works out

That would be cool if those summit F100 headers worked,I will have to compare our 79 F100 2wd to the 78 4x4 and see if there is any big differences where it would hit. I would like long tubes but might have to put shorties on. Thanks for the replys so far and am curious to see how those work out for you gnwalker.

They work! Fit just like the old manifolds, no clearance issues

Do you know if those headers are 1 5/8 or 1.5 primary tubes gnwalker?

These are the ones I had in mind to try.
The FF4 header set is designed to fit small block Ford 351W engines in a variety of street rods, cars and pickups.

1 5/8

The ones I used are 1 5/8. I would like larger tubes, but used what I had.

very difficult to find primaries larger than 1-5/8 for a 302/351W with a stock exhaust bolt pattern.

I am near completion of a set for my 79 w/ a 351W. I started with a set of Hookers 1-3/4 primaries for a 79 F150 4X4. bought a bunch of 1-3/4 J bends,Then started cutting and welding

I'll see if I can shoot some pics

You should make a few sets of those, I am sure you would have no problem selling them haha.

Anyone else know of anything that they know works?

These ones looked like they would have potential.
