My (new truck
I pulled this out of a farmers field.
69 F250 , 360 w/ granny 4 speed. been sitting 20? years.
motor and rear drums were locked up,
Removed heads, found it stamped 40 thousands, no ring ridge, oil was clean as honey, honed 2 rusted cylinders in place. replaced heads, tweaked it a bit, and fired it up. we think it got rebuilt, and then brakes and driveshaft center support gave out, and then it got parked.
removed wheels, and with a ratchet strap, a sledgehammer and lots of prying and sweating, got the rears to turn.
drove it around our small town, even got it into 3rd gear and about 30 mph.
I am happy with my Farm Fresh Ford
Plan on new rear wheel cylinders, or see if they can be honed and rebuilt
You can rebuild a wheel cylinder in no time if the inside has no deep rust pits where the seals ride
Replacing them is cheap and easy too if the lines don't freeze up and twist off
New center support bearing should be easy for you is you've had the heads off
Just mark the driveline for the phase and or verify it is in phase as you reassemble both shafts
