2015 F350 6.2l 4x4 - Driver side exhaust manifold Cracked - How Best to Repair?
I have a: 2015 F350 6.2l Gas 4x4 w/ 162,000 miles - with a Driver side exhaust manifold that is Cracked (see pics)
I bought it this way from a Sheriff Dept.
1) can this North South Crack be welded without removing the exhaust manifold? (see attached). I prefer to weld it up while it is still bolted to the head, if this is a possibility.
There is a metal heat sheild around the lower part of the exhaust manifold and I can't see if the crack goes all the way around the manifold or not.
2) Where would be the best place to find a replacement?
Used or New?
if New... who through?
I bought the truck knowing it had a cracked manifold as this info was included in the description
I removed the driver side inner fender well piece - it looks to me like I may be able to get to the manifold and its mount bolts thru the fender opening but with the front left wheel/tire removed
Any good suggestion?
Especially from anyone who may have had this same problem on their gas engine truck?
On Cold Start the leak is Loud for about 1 minute and then starts quieting down pretty quickly. I have been driving it around this way for a coule months now and put on about 3,000 miles during that time. Once warmed up the leak can barely be heard.
