Question Suggestions for 2.5 to 2 hitch reducer ??

My used 2024 came without a 2.5 to 2 inch hitch reducer. Looking for any suggestions on brands/features. Thanks.

The one from my Ram works perfectly.

My FIL bought one from Tractor Supply that he had to slot the hole because it didn't reach the hole in his F250's hitch. When he bought a new adjustable hitch I took my spare Ram one and put it in for him, so he now has an unmodified one that fits properly.

FYI I don't think Ford has put reducers in their trucks from the factory in quite a while - my FIL's '22 didn't have one when he bought it new.

Many people on here are going to tell you to buy a new hitch and to not use adapters, but as long as you understand that you're limited by the 2" shank and don't overload that, you'll be just fine. That and why buy a new hitch when the one you have works just fine?

My 22 F250 came with a 3” hitch so it also came with a 3” - 2.5” reducer. I am quite certain that none of them came with 2.5” - 2” reducers though. I think I bought a cheap one at Walmart or Harbor Freight just to keep in the truck. I did however buy a new WDH for my camper with an actual 3” shank. If towing often, I would rather have the correct size shank rather than using reducers. Another option is to buy the reducers and have them welded together.

You can also just get a new 2.5" shank and not a whole new hitch, that is what I did and ordered it from etrailer.
