Hello - I have a very complete, very stock 78 F150 with 29k original miles. It still has the factory exhaust system with the original muffler. That said, the bottom of the muffler has a hole where the heat shield is secured to it. I want to buy a NOS muffler and I’m having a hard time discerning what the correct replacement’s part number would be for a 351m and 4 speed. The system has no cat. I of course can determine the first half of part number which starts with D8TZ. Unsure what the last half would be, maybe 5230?
Several years ago, I bought an Arvin system for a car. It came with the exhaust pipe, muffler and tail pipe all in one piece. Looked exactly like the OEM system. You might try them. You could try Green sales.
Ebay has this NOS one right now eBay item number:176987160858.
You can have any exhaust shop flare the inlets/outlets if nit the correct size for your pipes.
