Not sure when this started as I changed a few things. Truck starts fine when cold. When hot, it will run very rich on startup. No smoke, but will burn your eyeballs out. Kinda goes, chug, chug, chug for a few seconds, then clears up. Again, only on a hot re-start.
I recently started running JeliBuilt tunes but don't think that's it.
I also added a check valve on the Fuel Discharge line.
I also started burning home heating oil with 2 cycle 20:1
Running a full return E-Fuel setup with a Bosch pump. When I shut the truck off, pressure will stay at 60psi and drift down to 40psi in about 20-30 seconds, then take about an hour to get to 0psi. Pretty sure this is just how it is and normal.
I have a fresh set of Rosewood 180/0 injectors but did not put those in and running a fresh set of FFD 180/0 I bought while waiting for Rosewood. All new Alliant O-Rings, cups were good so just cleaned them. Install went perfect. Didn't notice this after I installed the injectors so something changed, tune, check-valve, fuel, etc.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what to check for. Face3book is a joke and it's unbelievable on some of the stuff I see there. One guy told me I had a hole on a piston, another said my CPS was bad. UGH
PS: I'm kinda not a parts swapper and like to know what's going on first
EDIT-> Oil has 2000 miles and clean, no smell of fuel, doesn't burn a drop
Diesels don't "run rich" without smoke - they rev up.
Tuning doesn't change all *****-nilly. Either your tuning doesn't like the boutique fuel or the special blend doesn't like the tuning......or it's just the fuel.

Reason: Correct my non-French speaking spelling of "boutique". This is the USA.

Duh... You're right about the running rich. Maybe spark plugs fouled out ??
Just Kidding.. I'll try a few tanks of the good stuff
I'm not saying that your fuel isn't "good" or that #2 from the pump is "good". It's the easiest variable (although not the cheapest) to try to see if there's a difference. Fuel viscosity/flash point/combustibility can make a huge difference.
understood. I'm going to scan ICP, IPW% and Fuel pressure during a cold and hot start to see if there's a clue there, interested to see what shows during that "chug, chug, chug" when it's hot.
Got a hunch values will be stable during the "chugging" but a little higher when it's cold. which is normal
If you can, let me know if should monitor any other PIDS
If so, you can run the chip in bypass mode ("00") and run it all day to see if that clears it up. That will determine if the tuning is at fault or the fuel. Also, you don't happen to have a manual transmission running on automatic transmission tuning do you?
180/0% injectors will run just fine on stock tuning for AA injectors (90/0%).
If you're not aware, you can switch it to "00" while it's running but the change will not take effect until after a key cycle. I know you have the issues on hot restarts so key cycles shouldn't be an issue.
