As in I have attempted to stand on the pedal and it does not move. i have hit it with Kroil and other penetrating lubricants still to no avail my next step is going to be open up the rear brakes to see if somthing is stuck there. I dont want to if i do not have to. any ideas ?
Spray it with Kroil again and use an old toothbrush to clean the mechanism. I found that my emergency brakes weren't engaging because the mechism needed to be lubed.
If you have to remove the drums go ahead and lift the rear of the truck by the differential. Make sure you only disassemble 1 drum/side at a time so you have the other as an example
If it does not move at all, I suspect the underdash piece also. If there was something wrong at the rear of the truck, you should be able to stretch the cable under the truck some, which would translate into a little movement. Not much, but some as the cable stretches.
You should also be able to get under the driver's side of the truck under the gap between the cab and the bed area, and grab the cable and pull on it, and ascertain where the problem is.
Before I would go too crazy and maybe get the brake stucck on and cant move the truck I would break the system down into it's parts.
First I would disconnect the front & 2 rear cables from each other and see if the pedal moves.
If not then I would look at removing the front cable from the pedal assy. and see where the problem lies.
I dont think I have seen a pedal froze but cables yes.
