I have a 2024 F350, just paid it off. All good. Except that i need to locate the telematics module that transmits data to Ford and i do not want my truck spying on me.
Does anyone know where this module is located on a Ford F350 supercab truck? I want to disable it at a minimum, prefer to remove it completely. BTW, in the 2027 trucks, there will be far more invasive driver monitoring including AI and that means this truck is the last new truck I will ever buy.
Sad where electronic meddling in our lives is going.
If I remember correctly it’s behind the passenger side rear seat on crew cabs, not sure about SuperCabs.
I once unplugged it for a short time. You’ll lose the FordPass functions if you use those. Also map/navigation. I can’t recall if it affects fob remote start or not.
Mine is crew cab, my bad. I always use Waze nav on android auto anyway. And I have a Ravelco anti-theft device installed, so there is no way to remote start the truck anyway. I do not use the FordPass functions either, so i will find it and disable it.
Also there's a fuse 38 inside fuse box for TCU The fuse boxes on the passenger side underneath the dashboard When you remove it you're not going to have no GPS
Yes I have a smart phone, have done all I can to neuter that damned thing too. I don't know, may not be a huge big deal to just leave it alone. Also, Ford can do updates like the trailer towing module deal, without having to take it in to dealer for the TSB. So may be better off just leave it alone as is.

Thanks!
Post back what you discover in case someone else decides to go the same route.
I don't even know if the factory navigation works on my 2023 anymore. Never paid for subscription as I also use Waze with CarPlay if I'm on a trip any distance from home.

I'm going to install a switched fuse on mine, that way every couple months I'll just turn the switch on to get the OTA updates, then switch it off. Don't have to hassle plugging the module or the fuse in and out.
If you're interested on what data you've given up through Ford Pass and the telematics unit. Contact NexisLexis and request a free report. It will have everything on you, past addresses, court issues, driving tickets, data from the TCU, etc.
You can also freeze your data.

Why don't you just turn it off, via the settings? That's what I do. Yes, I lose all the functionality, including OTA updates... but, as ATC mentions, the remote start fob works fine. I turn it on when I know it will be setting for the weekend, and let the updates do their thing.

You can also request from Ford, all the data it has mined on you (my file was something like 204 pages long...) and then request, in writing, that they discontinue collecting and selling your data. By law you have that right.
....When you need a post-graduate degree to undo all of the Techno-Feudalism baked into a new vehicle. Lord almighty. Mine is even flipping on my location info on my phone. And I'm not even using a navigation app; just listening to songs saved on my phone itself.
