Hard to find a harmonic balancer for a 1999 ford superduty with a 6.8 v10 will the harmonic balancer on the 2000 ford f250 6.8 v10 be interchangeable on the 1999. Thank you has any body has had this same issue.
Then the XC2Z should be the one you want to look for. There are no good pictures of it that I can find and Ford doesn't specify groove count but the same years belt has 8 ribs and it application date show 1/99 through 2000.
Why do you need a new harmonic balancer is my question .
I have a 99 , with a manual , 4x4 , with almost 680k miles , had it for 15 plus years.
Just wondering.
I have 295k on my two years ago, I blew a head gasket, I put two new head gaskets and new timing chain kit. I developed a small leak in Front area I seriously think it’s the crank case seal maybe the the shaft on the crank case pulley was scared from the old seal. I really did not notice any scaring. So I was thinking I might need to replace it when I do the job.
Of the seal face is scared , they make a speedy sleeve , that installs on the crankshaft , and fixes the problem .
it takes a lot to damage the face of the balancer . Might just be a bad seal , chineezium made .
