Per Ford's TSB 06-26-1: Mercon V for the transmission. For the transfer case, the original spec was Mercon, which has also been superseded by Mercon V. I'm pretty sure I saw a TSB saying Mercon LV was approved for use in all rtansfer cases now, but I can't find it. Personally, I use Mercon V in mine. I'm not a huge fan of switching to something lower in viscosity.
